Nope, just that different people have different priorities. Whether those are good or bad are debatable.

Some people prioritize paying off debt, living below their means (whether it's a little or a lot), and saving because then it allows them the freedom to do the things that are really important to them like have children or travel the world or whatever.

of course this can happen but thanks for stating that as one of your fears

no one said anything about hurting.  it could just not be a good fit for your child based on what the child is communicating back to you.

anyway, again, imo, if one does not feel they are capable/able/willing (for whatever reason) of delivering the same kind of care/development that is provided in a freakin daycare center...then by all means...yes...one should rely on daycare.  personally, I know I could provide care/development over an above what could ever be offered in ANYONES daycare.  its work,  of course.  which is why I respect stay at home moms so much.

and before anyone decides to say that all stay at home moms are not the bizness.  fine.  i'll give you that.  but the same can be said for daycare....

do what's best for you.

Ships Diane 3.5 off to Auntie TC in chi-town.

Kindergarten (real school) out here is what i dont get it starts at about 6:30-12:30 WTFFFFF and you pay prep school prices and the kids wear uniforms. then you got to pick them up midday an wtf do you do with them after thatOuchOuch Daycare/creche can last between 10-12 hours, they are taught as well, it's a better value for money they get bathed and a meal sometimeBig smiles

tc love the babies!!!!!!!! lol

girl kindergarten when I was a kid was 8-12...which is why my mom remained at home.  so she could walk me to/from school and help me with my school work...

Just quoting because I'm interested in the answers.

depends on what you want in life

save by living in a sh*tty neighborhood so your income goes further and you can stay at home

or
live in a good neighborhood where the schools are highly rated, low
crime and great appreciation values but work so you can afford to live
there and be able to afford daycare

People live all sorts of lives.

I
read the blog of someone who retired in their 30's on an engineer's
salary, lives in a great neighborhood in colorado, beautiful home, eats
great food, takes vacations, has a child, and spends 25k for a family of
3 including a child in a good public school.

People prioritize different things. It's possible to live well and not have a high income.

need more info

do they benefit from generational wealth?

how much did they retire on?

how much do they get in interest each year?

did they have school loans
?

you said the line about living in poverty and supplying what your child needs without government assistance

I did not say that only the wealthy or those living in poverty without government assistance are the only people who should have children. I know your comprehension is way better than that Samone, cmon now.

As I said, people shouldn't have kids until they can afford them. Wealthy people can afford them, yes. But so can people who are not wealthy and have a poverty level income depending on the choices they make.

And that was my response to you implying that I said only wealthy people should have kids. Which is not something I ever said nor is it something I believe.

I'd thank you twice if I could.

When all is said and done, when I am on my death bed, I don't imagine that I'll give a single fu*k about all the stuff I've done and won professionally.

I work with people I don't like, for clients I don't necessary like, for causes I don't necessarily care for or about.
We're hired guns. Paid to win. No better than educated thugs in suits.

The truth is, if I lost it all tomorrow, I wouldn't jump out of a window like some folk would.
As long as the people I love more than life itself were there for me, screw the rest.
Get me away from yt folk dungeon quicker is all.

i was talking about the idea that people think children need to go to daycare to get organized development or benefit from activities...

I'm sitting here thinking of all the people who can't afford to have kids and all the ones that are too busy. A cop can't have children ... firefighters, postal workers, nurses, paralegals hmmm, and doctors and lawyers are too busy. Only Singers/Athletes and i guess the Kardashians can have kids.

it doesnt have to be like that IOSH. What societies should do is time the conception of kids so a certain amount of workers (male and female) ALL go off the job for 3-4 years to raise kids and then the non kid having workers pick up the slack and then they switch back! doing it this way will lessens the need for all those workers too, less people over all eventually.ClapClap

I don't think that would ever happen, if it did happen somewhere, it definitely wouldn't go down in the US.

I forgot to put teachers on the list of people who can't have kids.

Im being facetious. IM saying to hell with earning an income, be there for your kids for 3-4 years no daycare business. And to make it easier so we dont have a shortfall of workers all over. we collectively need to time our reproduction and all go off leaving our coworkers to cover for us for years. Certainly productivity would be down all over, a shortage of those ppl we need to raise healthy happy families (from farmers to the folks on the tv to doctors to cashiers) but hey your kids see you all the time.

I'm not the only one that gets that from your posts

If people with poverty level incomes can afford to have kids, then clearly people in the middle can too.

Like I said, it's all about priorities. Take some things out of your budget to be able to afford other things.
