If they needed it I would, but they don't. I try to take them out from time to time and buy the best gifts. They wouldn't take my money tho, they dont even like me going all out on them but I do it anyways cause they deserve it. | this and no I don't think it should be a requirement. more like something nice that you can afford to do

Right now I just buy my mom and sister random things like clothes and food. I also take them out on ocassion.
Next feb I'm planning a surprise trip for my mom because she never gets a break. I luv my momma.
In the future, I will prob just slide her some of my savings frequently. I would do anything to help her out.

My dad/step-mom combo...didn't pay my rent or college. We went down for a few summers and they give christmas gifts.
I'll be sure to itemize what I think that is worth and give it back.

I wouldn't hesitate to help my parents, sometimes I feel like they are trying to get me to support the rest of their family members and that really pisses me off.

Yeah.. this is kind of what im getting at.
in some cultures... the kids are indebted to their parents ...
Where as...in my case.. we were broke as hell growing up but my mom never forced me to go out and get a job to support the fam.
Part of me is like "well I didnt ask to be born anyway"..but... neither did they... no what I mean?

If I were speaking for myself, I would use "I" or quote Honeyb, When I say WE I am talking about blk ppl. So my statement still stands.
not to confuse unplanned with unwanted or unwelcomed
