In terms of how Scorpio helped her boyfriend, I would never consider that solely as an investment.

Even if they don't work out couple wise, they could still end up being friends. I can't see myself saying, "Dang, he needed to lose weight cuz he had health problems and his breath was bad, but I'm mad I did that cuz we're not together anymore."

Helping someone possibly add a few years back onto their life could never be considered in vain in my opinion, unless the bastard does me dirty on the end...and even still I would hope I didn't wish bad health back on him .

Now, if we talking upgrading like financially (and I'm not bout that life anyway), then that's a different story.
