products targeting those who eschew relaxers.  Not that I have a problem with that but just making an observation.  For example, Organic Root Stimulator has a kit out that helps "straighten" out your hair but it last about 4 to 6 weeks.  From what I can ascertain from the ingredients, it doesn't contain lye, formaldehyde, thio, or no-lye ingredients but it does contain some kind of ingredient that starts with a glyco-something.  Same deal with Beautiful Textures.  Now Creme of Nature has a line of "natural" straighteners but that one contains I think some kind of thio.  The last straightening product I tried was the NuNaat kit and it was meh.  Just too time consuming and too much breakage on my end when I was trying to blowdry my hair with the "activator" or gel to my hair to help straighten it.  For me, I am better off just blowing out my hair.  It's quicker and I lose a lot less hair.  Plus it looks nice and my hair doesn't smell like feet/sweat and no flakes.

Hmm didn't know these products existed cuz nowadays I'm  a grab & go hair products shopper.

The only non relaxer product I ever used to straighten my hair was RIO.  Fortunately, I only experienced flaking of the scalp  & not breakage.

The results were satisfactory but not outstanding so I used it once & didn't continue with it.
IA blow drying gives me the results I want so I never consider anything else.

Now I never blow dry.  However, when I  perfect the round brush & dryer technique I would definitely do it more often.   I need some willing gals (guinea pigs) for practice.

Currently I am trying to find the "perfect" brush/comb to use when I blow dry my hair.  I am only blowdrying my hair is because it is winter and my hair does not thrive when it is sopping wet and cold.  I would do the sopping wet hair when it is summer or a bit warmer.  I should rollerset my hair but damn it takes forever for me.  I guess no time like the present.

I noticed this too. I was thisclose to applying a "natural Brazilian blowout" until I read the ingredients. Sheamoisture Smooth & Repair Kit was the line, promised 6 weeks of smooth hair. Be careful naturals.

All of this. It's just too much hassle and bad marketing.

The first 3 ingredients made me leary:

Mineral Oil, and the Calcium hydroxide: used as a substitute for lye.  It's Lime and not as in the "fruit"..

No that is not it.  This kit is under the HaiRepair line and it is a white box.  The website doesn't have the ingredients list yet but I would like it for them to post it ASAP.

i tried looking them up.. it's new, thus, we won't know until the reviews come out.  One thing i've learned on these hair boards?  If it's "too good to be true".. then it's probably "too good to be true."

When manufacturers are "proud" of their "natural" ingredients, they definitely post them..Ouch
