THIS IS WHY YOU USE THE RIT DYE REMOVER FIRST.

Don't believe anyone who claims you don't need to use rit. Those Vets would never had told us how it removes clothing dye if it did not work. I also have a unit with transparent hair (where there still is hair), so I know how you feel. Well, I might if I had done this to my own unit...just saying.

You use rite-dye remover then bleach the knots? I need to be in this section more.. I've never done that.

You have to on #1, or #1B, to help with the lifting process. Sexi got all the information in the newbie information thread.

On some 1B units you do not need to use rit dye....it really depends on the vendor.....but you definitely need it on #1 units to remove the dye firstEmbarrassed

LWhite, Thanks for clearing this up because I was also confused.  Does this process apply with Virgin hair when trying to bleach the knots?

lol. I'm not laughing at you at all, but more at the coinsidence. I KILLED my first wig to the point of allopecia trying to bleach knots. As I was bleaching them my mother kept calling me out of the bathroom to do chores and get my nieces (then tolders) out of whatever they were doing. By the time I came back the damage had already been done. My feelings were so hurt. After all the money I spent on it I had to hold back tears.

After that I did the faux bleaching meathod (jerome russel blond hair spray sprayed to the under side of the wig. Works like a charm.

And I never ordered from an AV again. EVER. Too much money to wasted.
