I think accelerated studies is a good idea for kids who know what they want to do career wise and that career requires many years of study (such as a doctor).

A kid in my class went to college when we were 12...he went to Brown or Princeton I think.

Anyway children's brains can handle way way more than what our current basic minimum school system provides.

Good for them. No reason the majority of people can't do it.

but then they cant get a job because of labor law if they finish college by 15/16 and then i wonder what employer will hire a 17 yr old into their firm...i would think they lack business maturity that you need in corporate america..interesting family

on one hand i like it... because those kids probably didn't feel the same type of "pressure" that college students do with careers and therefore really did put some thought into it....


...however, i think its also good for kids to experience things with those in their age group like prom, the entire high school experience..football games, pep rallys etc....

I don't think I'd purposely pursue this for my children. For what? Bragging rights? How many of these baby geniuses will wind up on the Forbes list simply because they got a head start to working for someone else?
