A red lipstick represents feminine glamour. It gives a classic, elegant, and versatile look. Unfortunately, in today’s time, many women are reluctant to wear it. They assume that one needs confidence in order to wear a red lipstick. But the truth is the other way around. Anyone can wear it and it’s the red thing in the small tube that gives women confidence. Knowing the rules when wearing a red lipstick will help a lot.

Follow these guidelines to be able to achieve a perfect look with your red lipstick on!

1.      Wear it with minimal makeup. A little eye makeup or mascara will do.

2.      Experiment! Try to find the perfect shade for your lips.

3.      Deep reds make lips look smaller. Try to avoid these shades if you have thin lips.

4.      Pick softer shades when going outdoors.

5.      Go for bolder colors or shades during evenings to stand out.

6.      Coordination is very important. A little smudge of your red lipstick on your cheeks adds glamour to your look.

7.      Be precise in applying your red lipstick.

8.      A lip liner or a lip primer will help a lot to prevent lipstick bleeding. Choose a shade that is close to your natural lip color.  Another option is to apply a concealer around the border of your mouth.

9.      Choose warmer colors with a brown base such as brick or rusty red if you have a warm complexion.

10.  Cooler colors such as true and pinkish red go well on women with cool complexion.
