I hate those clamps because if youre already shaky about placement then those will work against you. They may come in hand once you've become more comfortable doing it but I dont think theyre better than tweezers.  When I tried it I found that while I was about to get the middle of the lash placed the ends would be stick to my eyelid..lol which in turn messed up any shadow I had. Its also a lot more bulky in the hands then a thin pair of tweezers. I use the duo lash glue as well...

i think the magnified mirror really helped me..
like i was shocked that i did it… i just knew i couldnt.. i don't have a steady hand.

the glue got all over my real lashes though and now I'm missing some lashes..

I taught my friend how to do it and she did great her first time.
A trick she does it place a mirror on her lap and apply while sitting in bed rather than standing in the bathroom. She says the mirror being under her face makes it a lot easier.

We place them under the natural lash, not on top BTW.

let me see if i can help you out here, i used to get individuals@the shops then moved to another state got em done @the shop a yr more THEN decided imma learn to do em myself, strips are my choice because the glue irritates my eyes after a full days wear. my hairstylist put some on me one day & showed me her technique:

takes glue squeeze dab in plastic tray (any old plastic tray)
takes strip lash cut to fit
takes toothpick dab of glue put all along the strip (from end to end) making sure to put a bit more on the end for strong hold
gently blow the strip let get TACKY then with tweezer or fingers place strip lash over your natural lashes, squeeze in place with tweezers OR fingers in the middle and both ends of strip lash...WallaH

sidenote: im whippin these lashes on like a pro now and yes buy the bulk lashes @ t-mart online, get em sent to your house and have FuN practicingWink I have 10 different shapes / kinds of lashes to choose from  they're cheap so you're NOT losing on money while gaining your techniques

With fake lashes that appear natural I apply them on top but the ones that are super dramatic I apply them under..seems to blend better for me that way.

I started out trying to put individuals on top of my lashes like the salon does but quickly learned under is the easiest and most natural looking application. I prefer them to have knots bc they last longer...you can't see them since it's under the lash. Nowadays I get Indian style on my bathroom counter and knock it out in 15 min. I can never get a natural look with strips for some reason.
