Topic: How to dress for Pre-New Years event Posted: Dec 30 2012 at 5:44pm |
|
I already have an outfit for tomorrow but someone just invited me to an event tonight. They say dress to impress but I have no idea what to wear. How do you guys usually dress for Pre-New years event?
Does this sound too casual?? Hot Pink Chiffon high- low blouse that has cut outs in back , matte black liquid leggings, with some flat over the knee black boots. I have lots of statement necklaces and bracelets to jazz it up a bit. I just know I don't want to wear heels. I'm forcing myself to wear heels tomorrow. I don't think I could do it two days in a row.
Can someone give me some ideas?

Thanks...I guess it's to late to be trying to find an outfit now. I tried to post pics but I couldn't. I keep getting error message. I think I'm just going to go with the leggings. I want to be comfortable. I do have this colorful peplum body dress I got from H&M and some pumps that match. I think I'll just bring a extra bag and if I'm extremely underdressed (which is usually the case) I'll just change.

I like the leggings, heels, and top idea. How hot pink a top are we talking? And the peplum dress and heels idea works too. Sounds like you will be looking good either way!

This is my opinion, since you asked for opinions. I cannot picture
wearing flats, over a black knee high boots. To me knee high boots
are more for casual events. But what do I know I am older .
If it is snowing what I generally do is wear boots, and take a dressy
pair of shoes with me. Slip them on when I get to the event. The blouse I love the description, I bet it is pretty. ITA, with wearing heels, pull the look together.

Wear the boots. Or wear the heels and brings some flats in case your feet start to hurt.

The outfit you described seems underwhelming since they said dress to impress. I imagine everyone being dressed up a bit more. Taking a change of clothes is a great idea
Era: the flat boots is what makes the outfit seem underwhelming....wear the heels
