Well it wasn't intentional, well maybe a little. I took care of this lady once for about 4 hours. Her daughter showed up, and tells the charge nurse, a white male, that her mother just wasn't "comfortable with a colored nurse". So I traded for one of his patients. Now this male nurse was pushing 60, and he was not the best nurse. That poor old lady laid in poop all night, wasn't turned, didn't get no water, it was a mess! I went in to answer the call light at about 6 that morning, gave the lady pain medication, bathed her, changed her bed, combed her hair, the USUAL type of care that I give patients. That night the daughter requested me to be her nurse. I said absolutely not! I don't have time for that bs.
