Slick em down with something rich and creamy with your fingers a couple times a day. Little girls can get away with that.  Also don't make her hair so tight.

At the moment I am using a mixture of oils.

I think the best ones (in my case) are peppermint, Amla, Brhami and castor. But thats in my case (I use more oils, but I think those are the ones that areworking for that problem)

Why is it that you think her edges are bad?

Do you moisturise them regularly?

Tight braids? Tight Pony tails?

Is she getting enough Iron?

These can all be problems.

I had to evaluate these aspects... I know I am aneamic (low iron levels in my blood) which is bad for the red blood cells (that contain iron) to carry the oxygen around my body (especially my hands and edges!)

Up her leafy greens intake, or find a childrens multivitamin that contains Iron and Vit C (you need the vit C to absorb the iron)

Stop giving her tight hairstyles if that is a problem

keep them moisturized, oiled, and out of the ponytail. i use ic aloe gel on my edges that i smooth on with my fingers or brush with a tootbrush if i really want it to penetrate. just baby them and dont put much tension on them.

I agree with what everyone else did. I was very gentle with my edges. No pulling and I massaged them and used castor oil and they grew back! HTH

My edges won't grow, it's all baby hair, but I do keep some butter on them just in case they decide to grow one day....

These are very good tips. I'm having issues with my edges too. I think they're filling up now that I understand that they need more moisture.

I use castor oil on my scalp and brows and it grows my hair nicely.  Place her hair in loose plaits and add a little barret to reduce tension. With less stress that hairline will be back before you know it.

1 thing i learned is that you dont and shouldnt comb your edges(front edges backwards-like you would when making a pony. Comb them forward when you are combing and when youre tying the hair back- part the middle and tie them back (but this way ur combing side ways.) Ive been doing this for a while now- and my edges are growing back- Im pretty sure this didnt make any sense but hope it did a lil
