How do you feel about telling

I do my own hair but I hate telling people because they assume that I do everybodys hair, I don't. I only like doing my own unless I feel sorry for you.

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile but do you guys feel some type of way about other Black women coming up to you either touching your hair or asking you questions about your hair... in public?

Like...

Omg! You're hair's so pretty! Is it yours?
How did you get that hairstyle?


This has always bothered me, as it is very tacky and rude. I think the general consensus among Black women must be that we are Black women therefore we have a sisterhood, a camaraderie, between us from the jump. Therefore, we can ask these (what I perceive to be) very personal questions in a public forum.

While that's all fine and dandy, I still think there needs to be understanding of public etiquette. How can I tell these women absolutely nothing about me without coming off as a b*tch?

Asking politely has never bothered me.

Asking while giving me the stank face will give you the answer you weren't looking for.

Touching is just plain rude and disrespectful. You wouldn't think to grab a chick's boobs and be like "omergerd...they look so good, are these real?!". Or would you grab a woman's ass and ask that question followed by "hey do you take suppliments or is that what God gave you?" So, grabbing someone's hair, or digging your face into their head to look for grids/tracks is just ridiculous.
