I'm getting very annoyed and frustrated with my natural hair. There are days where I love it, but a lot of the time I'm just upset with it.

It's thick, kinky-curly, and past shoulder length when flat ironed. So it makes it a lot of hair to deal with, and quite frankly I can't be bothered with it. I'm so done with my edges too, they just don't lie flat for any longer than 3 minutes, 5 if I'm lucky and they're in a good mood.

I'd just wear weaves when I couldn't be bothered with my own hair, but my mother (who does them for me) keep insisting that my hair's too long/thick for me to wear weave, and I'm starting to believe her because these braids she's done are just not working/pretty, and she's a quality braider. And wigs don't work for my head either. U-parts just aren't really my thing.

I've been thinking about getting a texurizer or a relaxer, and so I wanted to know how the other ladies on here decided relaxing was right for them, or why they chose to keep relaxing rather than go natural. :)

Much appreciated!

Well my mom relaxed my hair when I was a preteen because, even though it was pretty with semi defined curls, it took her forever to comb and she did not know about defining and stretching the curl.

I dont transition because im not big chopping all this hard work, the breakage is not worth it, I hate detangling for long periods of time, and ive had straight hair for as long as I remember. Its part of my identity. Lots of girls go natural because they want their identity back, when I tried to transition I didnt feel that. I realized I was only going natural because everyone else was.

i relax my hair maybe once a year and i just try different kinds. i found olive oil works best for my hair....cause my hair can be unruly...like. ugh. my aunt told me to try just for me...the kiddie perm...do you know that mess took my hair out!!

so i guess trial and error is the phrase. i stick with it, cause man relaxer makes things easier in this heat. other wise my hair will be nappy again by the time i finish cause im fighting with it, and sweating lol.

*end ramble lol*
