If you decide to make a $20.00 purchase on an item that requires a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box (which is now a whopping $11.30). That's your choice... I send my customers straight to USPS's website if they have complaints regarding shipping.

Wrong. You can ship USPS First Class for half the price and will get there in same amount of time.
Anything over $8.95 is something market will never understand when it comes to shipping charges unless you are shipping luxury goods.

I'm about to buy some all natural shampoo and conditioner from a sister that moved to Ghana.

Interesting! Where do you buy the lipsticks?

No.

UPS, FedEX, and USPS will provide a quote and/or list prices for shipping on their website. It's not hidden information. Shipping is expensive. The average amount for a Priority Mail medium box is $12.00 +. It's on their website. If the public is too lazy to get a quote for shipping than that's their problem. There are people that pad shipping, however, I am not going to put gas in my car, pay for UPS to put gas in THEIR car, pay for shipping supplies (tape, bubble wrap, paper, ink cartridges etc) for you free of charge. That is the customers responsibility unless stated otherwise.

You cannot ship First Class for an item that is over 13 oz.

$10.00 is a reasonable price regardless to whether you are in the same state. USPS doesn't care that you live 5 minutes from the recipient. They charge a flat rate price.  UPS will even charge by weight and box size. UPS even charges around $10.00 to pick up a shipment.

First-Class Mail

Minimum Weight: None.

Maximum Weight: 13 ounces (over 13 ounces, First-Class Mail becomes Priority Mail).

If I see that a business is owned by a black person I usually buy even if I don't need the item.

I shop wherever I get the best for my $$$, unless the owners or employees were rude or unpleasant, then I will boycott them.

Shipping is touchy. Not everything can ship flat rate. Of course it depends on size weight etc.

And yes. I support black businesses when I can. Even beauty supply shops because I have understand the reason for the mark up.
