thats where the case get tricky....scans will need to be shown and the court will need another health unit to give their medical advice of the scans.

This. Ultrasounds aren't always 100% so it may not have detected anything. Just like how sometimes they detect that babies are one sex and end up being the opposite. I just hope they don't mistreat the baby or anything because of this.

i would hope that this is the case. the article doesn't mention any specific disabilities but just that they are severe. not everything shows up on ultrasounds, and some things can't be detected until later on in the pregnancy.

if they were to put her up for adoption, she would simply stay in the system. it is rare that a child w/ severe disabilities gets adopted, for a number of reasons.

Might sound callous but I'm not raising a disabled child. I just don't have it within in me and most people don't...love is not enough.

^ok, that answers one of my concerns. I wonder how much later this was written in her file.

an apology isn't enough...and you are right, it is extremely expensive. and insurance doesn't cover everything.

i didnt hear about a woman trying to drown her kid

I think it all really depends on what the disability is though as well.  I know first hand that there ARE places that help depending on what the disability is.
