I just wanted other black women to weigh in on the brand and color of hosiery  that matches their skin tone the best when purchasing hosiery.

I'll start:

I'm what you call "paper sack brown"LOL  I've purchased Hanes Abosolutely Ultra Sheer in the color of "Barely There", however the match is not perfect so I wanted to see what other brands were ladies of color wearing...

I strictly wear Berkshire brand( sold at Macys & the like) ... various colors but when I want flesh color, I get "city beige"

http://www.eberkshire.com/

they have ultra sheer, day sheer, shimmers ( y favorite) and various control & non-control tops... average sizes & plus sizes.. and for folks like me, tall sizes

I'm interested to hear the comments too. I've never been able to wear hosiery although I know it would look so much more professional with my skirt suits.
For some reason, it really irritates my skin, and I find myself scratching my legs all day when I wear hosiery. I think I developed a complex when I was a kid, and my mom MADE me wear it every Sunday for church. LOL

I rarely wear hosiery, so I don't do all the designer brands.  I recently tried the Brown Sugar (can be purshased from CVS) brand in Jet Brown and it was perfect for me.

Only time I wear nylon is to work. But brown sugar has a good match and it's cheap. I dont do the $20 a pair nylons. But Im dark skinned ( yellow undertones ) and it is an exact match you can't even tell I'm wearing nylons.

as far as itching, you need to watch the nylon content.. when I wear cheaper ( ore nylon) brands I tend to overdo it on lotion/moisturizer...

you may even need to wear silk pantyhose... pricey but they look & feel better so for me its often worth it

I wear stockings/pantyhse daily... and a slip... I feel naked without em
