Hey ladies...I found out about it through my sister because saw that Reniece uses that. I did my research on both BHM and LHCF and I found a lot of threads with members that claim that it made their hair grow super fast. Now, I am wondering if the brand matters.....a lot of people speak about the Fingerprinted Horsetail from GNC and when my sister went to get it...they didn't have it so she bought the Solaray horsetail brand....does it matter? Will I still get the same results or is the fingerprinted more effective? Please let me know. Thanks.

I'm wondering the same thing. I don't think it matters cuz if you look at the ingredients on the hair vitamin bottles some of them hsve horsetail in them and it doesn't say fringerprinted on the bottles that I have seen.

Bamboo is higher in Silica, a healthier alternative Wink.  If you choose to take Horsetail, you might want to consider taking B-Complex vitamin also.

This. I believe Silica is what makes your hair grow, and horsetail has it in it. But Bamboo, which is harder to find, has about 75% silica in it, compared to about 5% silica in horsetail (which depends on what brand you take).

But, Claudie, why take B-Vitamins with the silica? Does it make it effective for hair growth? Just wondering.

Hi Dixie, you are correct Bamboo has a higher percentage of Silica than Horsetail.  It is advised to take Vitamin B-Complex, because horsetail depletes the body of some B Vitamins.  Mainly Vitamins B-1, B-2, B-6.  In addition Horsetail is NOT, to be ingested for long term use.  For anyone who care, the nicotine content of Horsetail range from 3-5%.
