I agree with the verdict they should be convicted especially since they knew the girl was drunk BUT at the same time the girl is NOT innocent. She knew what she was doing when she went there and began drinking. Her intentions weren't good either. This wouldn't even be a case if people hadn't questioned her about what happened that day. |
So let's say it was Trent and Ma'lik that drank themselves into oblivion one night and ended up getting f'ucced in the ass by their follow teammates, would that make them not innocent as well?

I'm not sure, honestly. A guys case is always handled differently from a woman's case. Women for the most part always seem to be portrayed as the victim and if not the victim they get bashed hard. Men, I think people are more insensitive to, from my observations...so idk :D

Irregardless, if you cannot ascribe guilt to the dudes in light of the scenario I just suggested, how can you automatically decide that the girl was "not innocent" when she turns up the be the one to be assaulted? Societal discrimination shouldn't be a factor in your assessment, imo. Getting pissed drunk is not a crime. She wasn't behind a wheel or anything. She got raped.

I'm not trying to bring her down in anyway or to the level of what the boys did to her. They deserve what they got for purposely humiliating her. But I'm pretty sure this girl knew what type of people she had herself surrounded by, she should not have been drinking in the first place and in some other articles I read on it someone testified that she was basically caring herself like a hoochie mama.

When I was younger going to parties and drinking, my intentions were to have a good time. Nothing more, nothing less. We're talking about a 16 year old, not an adult. Not someone with enough life experience to have better judgment than that. Lots of things happen when you bring alcohol into the picture but not necessarily because people intend for them to happen. Like my mama always says, "There's a reason they're called spirits."
