Can someone tell me about henna? It's hair dye but I think someone said its the kind you decorate your skin with, right? How does that work as dye on your hair? And how does one go about dying their own hair with it? And it is possible to go to a natural hair stylist and have her do t for you? This is the first time I've heard of this method of hair dye.

Someone who uses henna, please start a challenge.
I will follow along.
I have not tried henna, but may do so in the future.

I used henna yesterday and my hair is kind of hard. It does seem thicker, but harder too. It is VERY messy and I tried to rinse for a good 10 mins, but had to shampoo to get rid of the mess. I deep conditoned with a moisturising conditioner too.  I might have to side step this one.

Yeah, henna can make your hair hard.  You can dilute it by doing henna glosses (adding henna to your conditioner instead of making a paste) or by adding moisturizing powders (hibiscus and bhringaraj).

fredricafekkai-
I have used that henna with no issues but I don't use henna to color so I can't speak on its coloring properties.  GL! :)

Aww i wish this thread pick up again Cry

i henna'd my hair last night for this first time ever and i would say that i LOVE IT so far. I like that it gave my hair a rich color (like a very dark red or chocolate brown). I didnt notice my curls loosen. It does seem soft it wasnt hard at all. not even a lil bit. I put alot of cloves in it because i was afraid my hair was gonna turn orange. The next time i will eliminate the cloves and see what happens as far as color. i plan to do it again maybe in a week or two. It is alot of work for me because i slept with it in over night. Then two strand twisting my hair always make me screen. skinny lil arms be crying for a break.
