Last month I mixed my henna with merlot wine, water, and a little paprika to enhance the color. I noticed a big difference from my lemon mix, but it seems to have faded since then. I plan on trying again, hopefully next week.

I have fine hair - the henna made the strands of my hair appear thicker, i henna every 4-6 weeks.  Actually i hendigo - henna + indigo, the color is great for my gray hairs...... since they are random it looks like cool highlights.LOL

My hair is very sensitive to heat and henna absolutely does not loosen my curls, not even a little.

I will join ya.  Unfortunately I don't have the BAQ henna but I will make do with the hair quality kind.

So has anyone deviated from using henna or henna is still top dawg around these parts.  I used some "Jamila" (i question the authenicity since it was dirt cheap) henna and it was pretty nice.  You can't see the color unless I am under bright lights but my hair is practically black so no biggie.  It masked the gray strands I have so I am happy.  Very messy and time consuming.  So I know I have to set aside a day for it.

I'm bringing this back up because I just started putting henna in my hair.
I henna'd last week and it definitely covered the gray and added some highlights.
Saturday I henna'd again with a couple of squeezes of lemon juice but I didn't let it sit over night just about 45mins...my hair is VERY red today.
Also the softness that everyone raves about...well my hair strands felt a bit hard, not hard but just not cottony soft...did I henna too much?
I am waiting for indigo to go UBER BLACK if I get it this week will it be too soon?

I don't think it is too early because most instructions for jet black hair calls for indigo to be applied like immediately after you henna.  But it sounds like you are in the clear.

I forgot to mentioned when I hennaed my hair, my ends felt hard as heck.  I just dusted them off since I haven't cut my hair in some time.  My hair feels much better but there are some rought spots.  I will trim then either today or sometime this week.

I henna'd for the first time yesterday and it turned my hair REALLY red because I dyed my bangs strawberry blonde like 3 weeks ago. I'll post pics once my bantu knots dry :) I love it!
