Also henna was like the "gateway" powder for me. LoL
I ended up getting Amla, Brahmi, Cassia and Shikakai as well. Now they're staples. My hair has grown in fuller, thicker and overall, more conditioned b/c of them.

Basically what sajjy said.
I did a henna gloss, as per CurlyNikki's recipe, right before Christmas. I may use water only the next time since it was a little drying (failing to wash it out completely probably didn't help). But after a second deep treatment and drenching my hair in care fee curl and olive oil, she was back and felt great. I've noticed that my hair is a lot stronger. My ends that needed a trim (and still do!) don't look nearly as bad. It may have loosened some of my finer curls, but it thickened up the back tremendously. I can't wait to try it again!!!!!

About the loosening, it made my hair kinda poofier instead of making it a looser curl pattern. I did the tx's once/mth last year and that was the "loosening" that I experienced. I'm a 4a/b.

I haven't done the actual treament in a while but I have added the henna to my cowash condish. |
I was thinking about adding it to my DC as an alternative so I don't have to add yet another conditioner to the mix. How do you go about doing that, Swift? And @ henna being your "gateway".

4a/4b, but some of the hair strands around my edges are super fine.
Especially in areas where my edges are trying to make a comeback. This
is where I experienced the loosened texture. It wasn't anything too
dramatic.

^^Yeah, all my strands are fine so it made my fro look much more cottony..and I like it!! :)
BB- In an empty bottle, I just add a little of each powder I wanna use, probably a tsp-tbsp of each, and then add water and shake. Then I fill w/mostly condish (usually V05 or Suave) and add some oils (usually EVOO and grapeseed) and shake it all up. I've used it as a DC and my hair felt divine (very soft) afterwards.
Or I add a 1-2 tbsp of powders to my DC, add a little EVOO and Grapeseed and use it like that. I have no trouble rinsing it all out. I don't do the pastes anymore. HTH!

I think I may do that from now on. The gloss was a great experience, but it was a LONG process! If I can incorporate it into my normal routine with similar results, I'll take it. I'll definitely try that out.
