My baby sis got her undergraduate in Sociology and will complete her Master's in counseling in May. She didn't have much luck finding work, except volunteer work, in her field until recently.

Job Summary:
The purpose of the Targeted Case Management program is to support people who experience mental illness to access supports to live successfully in the community, reduce the risk of re-hospitalizations, homelessness and incarceration. Through the development of an individualized service plan this position assists the people we serve in gaining access to resources, including but not limited to housing, health insurance, medical and mental health supports, employment and educational participation, legal services and social networking.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, criminal justice, theology, nursing counseling or education)
- 1 year experience in the mental health field required

Optimal has multiple openings at the Research Analyst I position. Research Analysts assist senior researchers in a variety of research and analysis tasks including: collection and preparation of data from surveys and administrative information systems, performing basic analysis and coding of survey instruments, conducting literature searches, contributing to written reports and proposals, and providing general administrative project support. Must be able to work independently but also function effectively as a member of the project team.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Solid communication and presentation skills;
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative research experience;   
  • Computer programming experience, especially in SAS or STATA, is a plus;

Part-time and relief positions available for various shifts: day, evening, and overnight.  

Under the clinical supervision of the Rehabilitation Director, the Residential Counselor is responsible for the provision of direct services which promote the ability of clients to participate in appropriate community activities and which contribute to the development and utilization of skills necessary for independent living. Additionally, the Residential Counselor will participate in the assessment of the client's rehabilitation needs and in the development, implementation and monitoring of the client's individual rehabilitation plan. The Residential Counselor is also responsible for providing crisis services, including intensive support and assistance, and may be required to provide follow-along services to suspended or discharged clients.  

The Residential Counselor is also responsible for ensuring that clients develop and utilize skills that contribute to the maintenance of a safe residential environment as well as documenting service delivery. The Residential Counselor may be privileged to provide basic health teaching in the areas of nutrition, exercise, dental care, substance abuse prevention, and prevention of injury and illness at home and in the community as well as training in communicable disease prevention.

Ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks. 4 years demonstrated experience supervising a human services staff. Strong understanding of successful youth development/workforce development practices.
