My husband has had his locs for over 4 years and are now about halfway down his back. He moved a lot and has never been able to get a good routine/someone to help him maintain his locs so now that were married I'm learning to maintain them better for him!

He works out very hard (football training) 2x a day 6 days a week and sweats A LOT which always ends up that after a week of retwisting his new growth that was just retwisted has for the most part come apart and all frizzy and looks like he hasn't done it in over a month! Someone recommended for him to use Murrays Beeswax so he was using that but I read that horrible to put in your hair due to build up etc. Can someone please give us a good routine for keeping his locs looking fresh and held together until it's time to retwist!

Oh I also forgot to mention his hair is very soft and he washes it once sometimes twice a week so it doesn't smell!

He would need to interlock vs. Palm rolling. Im a loctician and although I prefer palm rolling there are times when interlocking is is the best route to go. One thing about interlocking is tha it will hold as far as style goes it will hold for a while. He really only needs to get it done every 3 months. He does NOT need to get it done every month! Too much interlocking will put too much stress on his roots.

So there is NO way he can go 3 months without getting it done, his hair grows extremely fast and he would look like a homeless person (no offense) if he waited longer than a month, and his job would not allow him looking like a bum lol! Would it be okay to palm roll in between to keep it neat?
