I want to get rid of him soooooo bad. I told her that this morning and she broke down into tears. Can someone please give me some helpful tips on how to get rid of them. for the house i've used roach spray & that worked.  as for the dog wash w/ flea & tick shampoo & dust w/ flea powder once he's dry & follow w/ the drops on the back of his neck.  oh & if you have carpet there's a powder(or you can use the same powder that was on the dog)same method as carpet fresh, sprinkle let sit then vaccum.

Call your local vet and ask about a pill called Capstar.  It's like $2.50 and it starts to kill fleas in 30 minutes.  I used it on my cats, and later bathe in lemon Joy (dish liquid).

Hi Mocha78,
When my dog had fleas, I actually took him to the vet and they gave him some medicine and the fleas were gone within a day or so. It was Frontline Plus:

I would recommend you treat him right away becuase at this point he is very uncomfortable which means drama for you!!!

You can also go to a pet store and buy some medicine to apply on the skin but it may take a couple of days for them to completely go away.
Or you can drop by a vet's office and buy the frontline plus. Most vets usually have them for sale in the front.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

BTW, what kind of dog do you have?

I also found that if you happen to have some Avon Skin So Soft on hand, wash the dog in some of that, it's like "fleas be gone."  Works wonders and keeps them away for awhile until you can get to the vet.

I also use Seargant's Gold Flea & Larvae (sp?) Killer....it's like Carpet Fresh.  It's in a tall can and use just like someone mentioned previously. Sprinkle it down, let sit and in 24 hours vacuum.  LOVE IT!!! STAPLE in my house.

Left untreated, dem lil suckers multiply quicker than rabbits! Then, they'll start biting on you...I know from personal experience. Angry

You must get the dog on a flea and tick control program quick! they are animals who will always be prone to  fleas simply because they have hair and are low to the ground and they run around out side where the fleas are,so do yourself a favor and get the Frontline once a month flea control, you'll be much happier and so will your dog!Tongue  That dog above me is so pretty!
