Hi ladies!
I just got micro braids in my hair this past Sunday and I didn't realize until Sunday night how tight my edges were. When she was braiding, it didn't feel like she was braiding tight at all. However, it's now Thursday and my edges still hurt, but not as bad as they use too. I do know that sometimes micros do hurt when you first get them done, but I didn't think they would hurt this long. I'm even starting to get small bumps in that area and I'm afraid that I'm going to lose some hair. I've been spraying braid spray on the braids in hopes of it loosening. Is there anything else I can do without taking the braids out and loosing hair?

bumping for you, I would take them out, my own hair is wayyy more important than the braids but hopefully someone will chime in and give you some advice to help.

I agree! Since I do my own hair it wouldn't be an issue! But I would take them out & re-do them?

I would take them out immediately especially if you have bumps around your edges. Which means the hair is being pulled from the folicle which may eventually pull all the way out of the folicile.  The only way to prevent future damage would be to take them out and evaluate the health of your scalp. Putting product on them may temporary soothe the pain however coutinuous use may cause product buildup and more stress on the already stressed hair. Believe me you don't want to risk losing your edges due to this.

Thanks ladies! I took them out and it feels much better. When getting braids done I can usually feel when my hair is being pulled too tight and it didn't feel this way at all when I was getting them done.
