MY MOTHER PERMED HER HAIR Cry She had her hair braided up for a year and a half while clipping off all her damaged hair in the process and she PERMED IT! She would be between SL and APL stretched. But now that its permed she is using heat EVERY DAY and I told her to flat iron it and wrap it so she doesn't have to do it every day and she cannot wrap it right and her ends are getting frizzy Ouch

So what can she do so that she uses heat LESS often and her hair stays straight???

TIA Smile

Also for me I'm transitioning and I have about 3 inches of new growth on my head and I'm almost APL (I need an inch to an inch and a half) and I'm taking my twist out soon and I wanna wear my hair straight so...
Help pleaseEmbarrassed

Is your mom using any kind of product to wrap her hair with? I use a little HE LTR Leave-in Split end protector. For you, i would get a dominican blowout...HTH

Diva Smooth would help a lot. If she DC'd with Diva smooth (or put some organic honey in her DC) and then used a heat protectant to flat iron then wrap her hair at night.

She should definitely deep condition more and use heat less. When I first discovered the magic of a flat iron, I flat ironed my hair EVERY DAY without heat protectant. Needless to say, my hair started breaking and I had to get a major cut. As far as wrapping goes, it's just a matter of practice! Trust me, it took me over a year to find what way works best for me and to get it right.

I don't know if this will work for your mom but I use the GVP brand of Chi silk infusion when I flat iron and I only flat iron once a week. Also, I never put heat on my hair unless I have DC'd that same day first.

Oh yea and I don't wrap my hair in the traditional wrap method. It's kind of like cross wrapping but I just use my hands to curl it under and then wrap a longggg silk scarf around it so my hair is laying just the way I wear it out daily. I wrap it around my head loosely the first time and then on the second go round I pull it tighter so it won't slip off while I sleep. It probably has less body that way but my hair was breaking too much from wrapping so now if I need more body I just put some rollers in it with a teeny bit of wrap lotion.
