If you have a glueless unit .. umm you can thin out the edges etc ... but it will NEVER look like it is growing out of your head if you don't use at least a bit of glue on the edges.
When I see a glueless unit walk by ... I don't see the edges because the hair style covers this etc.. and it looks just like a regular (hard) wig with .... superior hair quaility.

If you want a realistic look you have to invest time into working on the edges and you have to use a bit of glue to get the baby hairs to lie down so you can pull the hair behind your ears. Critical.
I have single knots around the edges and I sit down and tweeze the units so that the edges are thinned out. Then I cut the 'baby hairs' short .. short and somewhat feathery. When I apply the unit I use tape to secure the unit ... but I use a TOUCH of glue to get the baby hairs down and make it look like it is growing out of my head. Again ... feathery.
If the glue gives you a rash (me too!) don't give up. There are a ton of glues out there so try another one ... choose the glues that are NOT strong though - this is what I do. This will avoid giving you a rash .. though every morning you will have to spend an extra 5 minutes to reapply the glue just around your hairline. Again A TINY BIT is all you need.
Your lace must be a good match to your skin color in order for the edges to melt into your skin.
It takes practice and experimentation. :)
