Topic: Hello I need help. Posted: Feb 01 2013 at 12:52pm |
I'm a white girl who's trying to grow her ugly damaged hair out, so i want to wear lace wigs. I've been researching for days and days on what to get. Basically, I want a front lace wig that i can have securely attached to my forehead for the day then easily take it off at night. I want to use a double sided tape but I have no clue since everyone is talking about how to keep wigs on for as long as possible, like weeks, but I'm only interested in a day or two of wear. All tapes on ebay claim to have weeks of hold...
I want a long black straight wig. I'm also torn between buying a cheap long Futura fiber wig, or a more expensive human hair one. I like the look of the synthetic one better but i have a kanekalon wig that's quite long and the ends tangle like crazy. I don't know if the fibers are the same and futura also tangles or do all long hair synthetic wigs tangle and is the human hair a better investment...?

If you are going to get a lace front you might as well get a human one from a CV. In my opinion long hair synthetics never last long. Have you tired contacting a vendor yet. There are several different types of lace fronts to choose from (i.e. do you want 3 or 5 inches of lace in the front, do you want weft in the back or not)

i went on ebay and looked around but i cant seem to find what i want from a trusted vendor because they all have people complaining. I just want a simple silky straight black or off black 18 or 20 inch lace front. i dont really mind what kind it is. are there any good vendors on ebay that would sell this?

If you want something simple you can go with Rex, I have purchased more then my share of wigs from him and no real complaints. Remember no vendor is perfect. He has alot of stock wigs avaiable, you can PM for other vendors. Try and go with virgin hair too

Your request is simple enough, I would try to find a stock human hair wig (virgin) that has adjustable straps in the back. They're great for just adhering in the front with no worries attaching the nape.
Depending on your natural hair type, you'd probably like a Chinese virgin remy wig (CVR), and a well made one should be virtually tangle free.
If you want to remove daily, try a sample of a few tapes to see which ones work for you, or try the Got2Be Glue method (even better since you're wanting to remove daily).

Hello, from another white girl .. wearing lace for 3 three years, now!
Go with human hair. It is WELL worth the extra expense. Long synth hair of any kind will drive you nuts with tangles.
I agree with going with a well known vendor from 'here' vs EBay. Rex makes good virgin units, I use WigsRoyal with no problem.. and they even stock glueless units you don't even really have to tape or glue down at all. Holly (WigsandClosures.com) is also good and easy to communicate with. Getting the virgin hair, btw, is your best bet, esp since you are going to wear black (and you don't have to color it). Not to disagree with Chatnoir, but unless you are Asian,, I'd recommend taking a pass on the Chinese hair... It's pretty heavy stranded. I WANT to like it since it's resilient, but it looks 'wrong' on this white girl. Malaysian or Brazilian is a better bet; Indian if you are going for some wave and some 'poof'.
I am also a daily wearer. I swear by the Blue Liner tape. It's supposed to be a two week hold tape but I have no problem removing it daily. Some lace it does stick extra tight to, but others it peels off very easily. 90% alcohol is your friend for removing tape.
I like the GOt2Be gel too, as mentioned here, but I don't like the residue it leaves on regular lace. It is an extra step to have to the clean the gel off the lace. I have used it with the glueless style caps like WigsRoyal makes, where the front edge lace encloses a ribbon like material at the very edge.. since the edge is not as porus as just lace, the gel residue is easier to remove on that style wig, IMHO.
