Some of my hair got cut off during take down. She thought a long piece was string or whatever and she cut some of my hair,I lost a lot of length that I worked hard for. I don't think I'll weave it up again. Just lacewigs from now on and u part wigs. Anyone else have similar experiences.

I use seam rippers.  It takes me a lot longer than most to do my own takedown.  My hair is braided with thread instead of braiding hair and I am extra careful.  If you weave back up you won't notice the length loss.  It's frustrating but don't be discouraged.

+1 w/ the seam ripper. That's the safest way to take down. My hair got cut during the take down of my first weave. Thankfully, it was at my crown, so I was able to hide it with ponytails.

Happened to one piece every time I took my hair down no matter how careful I was. So, I also moved to wigs and u-parts. I'll sew those on, but don't think I'll do the sewing "weft to hair" thing again any time soon.

Wow

How much was cut?
Like one of your braids?

I always take my installs down. It takes me like 6 hours to take down, wash, blowdry but I would be very upset if someone cut my hair :(

Sorry OP

This always happened to me though but I got better. Like some ladies said, I always take my hair down myself. Can't be mad at myself so...

LOL, My husband took my last sew-in down and he cut off a braid at the top of my head.  I was heated, but what could I say.  My HUSBAND was taking out my weave.
