Amy - it's definitely possible to move up in the income bracket. Without know too much of your story/education, I would just say you have to work smart. Learn how to network to get a job. When I graduate, I wanna work in finance and I know Many Investment bankers from a non target school (IE people who didn't go to a top 10 school) have to cold call so many people and companies just to get their foot in the door.

Also, something that I've found to be true (although some might argue with me on this) is that other black people are willing to help out. Networking with black people is important.  It's how I've gotten a lot of opportunities.

Good luck!

I agree! Black professionals definitely know how to help each other out.

I'm not good at phrasing these things.
Living check to check, not being able to choose where you live, having to accept the worst in most areas of life e.g school, housing areas etc

Thats great Clap..i really hope i do.

I wasn't a part of greek life, but from what I've seen it's VERY rare with black greeks.
