I remember having a dish like this that looked similar to this if not the same.  The version I has had crab legs, chicken, something else and the texture at the base is watery but had whole pieces of meat and vegetables.  I had it served with dumplings.  Sorry that I can't be more descriptive but I had this dish almost 20 years ago.  Thanks in advance.

you sound like you had regular soup. 
its a broth type soup called bouilon. 

maybe someone can help you more.

Yes, it's bouillon. It's standard fare There are different ways to do it. Some versions are thick in consistency, sort of like a stew, others make it more watery, not everybody uses crab. But there's always meat, vegetables and dumplings and a sort of pumpkin called "giromon". Sometimes plantain as well. Basically, it's a hearty soup, comfort food.
