Is there such a thing as hair being too short for a relaxer?  Do you think that hair should be a certain length before relaxing?  Do you think that if the hair is 1 or 2 inches, the chance of damage to the scalp is higher?
Very Confused

I appreciate all of your responses!

i've seen some really short hair relaxed.  i think it's safe as long as the scalp is based with something and protected during the relaxing.

Thanks weaveitup!

My mother had the back of her hair shaved extremely short and it grew about 2 inches.  Just wanted to make sure that her next touchup wouldn't cause her to lose any of her growth or cause scalp damage.

Thanks again.  Y'all are great.

nope don't think it can be too short.  Haley's short cut isn't more than an inch in lenght.  It will be harder to hide the new growth however.

as long as you use a checkerboard pattern to base scalp

to add, my hair is very short {i love it} w/most of it's length in the top...i have someone perm it for me, but what u have to make certain of is u pay attention to how ur scalp feels...the slightest hint of burnin WASH IT OUT...the last thing u want to have is a visibly scabby scalp...& the shortest portion of ur hair should be rinsed out first i believe

but as long as it isn't bare, bald skin...i think u can relax it!!!
