Depending on the amount if Biotin, you may need to increase your water intake to combat the acne. It will increase hair growth in other spots too. But, I never experienced the acne issue with the vits. But, faster hair growth...yeah had that.

Yes, for the short amount of time I took HSN vitamins I experienced a few breakouts from them until I started drinking more water. I think you have to drink half your body weight in ounces or more.

Biotin is part of the stress vitamin "complex".. Bvitamins must work as a UNIT .. if one of the members of the complex is higher, or used alone, there's some weird problems. with biotin? it's increased sebum = acne. I am extremely acne prone. And when i started taking biotin at least 200mcg, my face broke out in a "zit beard".. it was horrible. It ranged from a acne rash to cystic acne w/ingrown hairs. And when i popped the zit (especially the big ones), there was hell to pay afterwards with scarring. Go out and buy a cheap brand of Bcomplex vitamins. rest assured, you will find "biotin" in the complex. Right now, i take 10,000 + mcg. a day with no problem. but i also take Kirkland brand B100 complex to counteract the acne. and it works. i learned this trick from a forum member who knows her crap.. and yes, you must drink LOTS of water.. it's good for you anyway.

Hmm, the composition only has 15mcg of Biotin :/ Bummer. I was hoping for more. |
I take Nature's Bounty B Viatmin Complex and 1,000 mcg of biotin. Be sure to drink plenty of water. I try to get 16oz of water in every 3-4 hours.

Wow, I was wondering where this acne was coming from.... I thought it was because I went on vacation and left my Mary Kay at home, which resulted in me having to use regular soup on my face

If you can't find a good hair/skin/nail vitamin, consider taking MSM and
Biotin together. Whenever I stopped taking Nioxin or Hairfinity, I
ended up just switching to MSM + Biotin. As long as you drink enough
water, you shouldn't really have any issues with biotin.
In
terms of hair growth, biotin and MSM are usually the biggest factors for
a HSN vitamin. I know with Nioxin the Biotin was nearly 300mcg I
believe but no MSM so I had to suppliment MSM when I took Nioxin.
Hairfinity
tends to have everything and a HUGE dose of biotin (so def drink more
water when taking HF) which is part of the reason IMO that so many ppl
claim to have these crazy growth jumps within a week or two of taking
it.
Also consider a topical sulfur oil. You can make your own or
buy a premixed one either at your local BSS or online. IMO, I HATE the
smell of sulfur so I buy premixed ones like Gro Aut Oil or Liquid Gold
which mask the smell with other essential oils. Every time I made sulfur
oil on my own, the smell of the sulfur was too strong for me to GHE
with it.

Yikes! These horror stories are freaking me out. I'm already acne prone but I've never had cystic acne. I already take a B-complex but I don't think it has biotin. It's not listed on the composition. I hope the B-complex will counteract any bad effects. I might just start with a smaller dose than I wanted to try. Despite the horror stories I think I'll give it a shot but I'll be real careful. If I do get bad acne, it'll give me a chance to test out this sulfur ointment I get from my pharmacy. I don't have any dates or boyfriends to worry about my face for now. No guts no glory!!! Lol.
