I said it seemed average!

But it works quite well for me. But I think paddle brushes are great for type 4 hair.

I used it in a mixture of small to medium patches. My hair was slightly stretched from the braids which really made everything a lot easier. The roots were matted and I had plenty of new growth which was the more challenging part, but the brush handled itself very well and removed those shed hairs while detangling the new growth!

Midna, you got me wanting to try that brush...I'm mostly 4a and the idea of brushing scares me but I've been wanting to use one for help with major detangling like you described. Did you use it in very small sections?

Also I am taking my hair down after months of being in a protective style and I bought a new brush to prepare for the massive amounts of shed hair. I wasn't interested in a comb but wanted a paddle brush or something of that nature to really help separate and detangle my hair while removing shed hair.

A brush that could provide me the effect of a Tangle Teezer without shredding my ends like  the TT did. Something that could remove my shed hair without pulling my intact hair like the Denman did.

Didn't want to spend too much so I went to Wal-mart and looked at the selection of combs and brushes. After considering throughly, I decided to buy the Goody Thickfix brush designed for curly and thick hair! Seemed average, but anything designed for my kind of volume deserved a chance!

So down come some of my braids, some areas matted and in desperate need of oils and finger detangling! After I give those areas some tlc, I ran the brush through those parts of my hair and oh my! it doesn't hurt! In fact it's detangling quite well and I can feel the shed hair dispersing from my intact hair! I look at the brush and WHOA.

Thing is COVERED in shed hair. It did all that without causing any clumps or worsening tangles? Amazing. The rest of my detangling session went well thanks to the brush. The only trouble was my by own hand with the matting of parts of my hair but oils, light moisture, finger detangling, and this wonderful brush solved all of that!

*Throws away receipt* It's a keeper~

Jane Carter's Nourish & Shine!
I am a 4beauty~
Used it mainly as a sealant. Qhemet Biologics was closed and I needed a good butter NOW to seal these kinks!

A wonderful sealant! More oily than and light than Qhemet but still very softening and the smell is lovely! Almost perfumey but not in an obnoxious way. It's pricey; costs $22 in stores but I got it on Amazon for $15. Woo!

Still going to buy some Qhemet and I will be rotating these two lovely butters. And can I just say the nourish and shine is wonderful on skin too! So softening, you'll feel luxurious wherever you put this stuff. My hair is usually very rebellious to products hence why I am now resorting to higher quality products and Jane Carter is not failing me.

Name of product: DAX Roots Jojoba Oil
Hair texture/type: Fine Thin Kinky Coily Low Porous Hair
How did you use the product: Edges and Twists outs
Overall satisfaction (scale of 1 to 5): StarStarStarStarStar

I love it.  I wasn't sure how I was going to use it because it is a thick butter but It smelled so good so I bought it.LOL  I first tried using it after taking twist outs as an oil application.*FAIL*.  So, I went on Youtube to see how others were using it and one girl used it for the twist outs.  So, I spritzed my hair with my water mix and in sections applied the butter and twisted.  Next morning, took out twists and did a little jig in bathroom.  I had the best defined twist out that I can remember and my hair felt fine.  When I try a lot of the twisting gels and creams, they leave my hair feeling funky so, I never use them.  I always have frizzy twist outs without much hold.  This product gave me light hold and a nice defined twist out without the dry, crispy and greasy feeling.  I will buy this again. A definite 5 stars in my book!! Thumbs Up  More info below:
