Personally I find that hair colours too close to someone's skintone washes them out.Example:
There was a "blonde" highlight trend among Indians around 6 years ago and most of whom I had seen (mainly peeps at Highschool) were walking around with orange highlights that were very close to their skintone. It didnt look flattering in my opinion, if they had gone for a darker shade and maybe some red out... could have looked cute.
You have a pretty medium tan/caramel skintone so I could suggest the following (ref pic: http://greekamericangirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Auburn-Hair-Color-Chart-570x328.jpg):Blondes:
6.3 highlights, 7.1/6.3 mix
, maybe 8/8.3 mixColour:
You can pull off bold colours
, think fire red
, electric blue
etc. Pastel shades
are very cute for summer. Consider a pastel ombre
like Lauren Conrad
(her trademark style is very summery boho chic!).
I think even if you only
went up by 1 level
or 3 levels
(lightening your hair) you could still rock a cute summery hair colour. I think styling plays the biggest when trying to look trendy for the summer holidays. Consider braiding your hair at night, french braids (channeling boho chic), curls (any kind though marcel curls could look very cute if defined and finger combed).Try
some summer hair styles
before lightening up. After you lighten/dye
your hair is pretty much set on a path to deterioration
like... you used an alkaline product
to change your hair. Your texture will go from soft and supple
to [usually] dry and damaged
. You can make the hair appear healthy
but overall the hair health wont be so good
. Make sure you are ready for it is all im suggesting.
Other than that... Rock out! Have fun! We're only young once right?!
