The pic with the french braid is absolutely gorgeous. So is the video with the spiral curls. But I do think chalk is drying to the strands no matter what your hair type is. It should be used temporarily and not often, only special events I would think. < id="adlesse_unifier_magic_element_id" style="display:none;">

I skipped around in the video so excuse me if she addressed this. Doesn't vibrantly pigmented eyeshadow cost a bit of money? The pastels are only 5 to 12 dollars and you get a bunch of colors and can use em multiple times.

Well I guess it depends what brand you get. L.A Colors make loose pigments for like $1.00-$1.50 a canister.

But If you are going with MAC...then well...

It does. I did it during the summer and my hair was extra dry.

I didn't watch the videos but here's how I did it(the fourth time around):
Dampen your hair
Apply moisturizer
Seal
Wipe chalk onto hair

I found it a LOT more effective to wet my hair rather than the chalk. The results weren't nearly the same.

I also found that some cheaper chalks broke up more easily which was a plus and minus because it disintegrated more easily hence leaving more color but it disintegrated more easily hence making it harder to hold. I also found that cheaper chalk wouldn't last as long or would last longer.

Jumbo chalk is not better. The skinnier ones give off more chalk in my experience.

The color tattoo eyeshadow line is good for this kinda thing.
It's less drying than chalk also
