Yes, that's what I thought. That's why I always stayed away from them.
However, there are a zillion companies that produce products specifically designed for curly hair. Mixed Chicks and Kinky-Curly are 2 of them - but there are many more.
That's the key - they need moisture - but you can't get this in traditional "White' (straight hair) or Black (kinky 4b/c) hair products, No, you have to get the products that can groom the 'curly' hair texture and you have to dry, and comb etc .... the units unlike these other hair types completely.
So I find that it is not diffcult or time-consuming to work with kinky curly units.
Another thing is density. You really need low (like 80%) density ... or it WILL be too much to manage and will not look realistic either.
It's the products. Do your research on yt.
