i mean i get the whole issue about buckling up...but honestly...i only do so because it is the law.  i don't know where her school is...but where i live there are 2 public and one private within walking distance.on residential streets.   i (and any child i am with) has the same chance of getting hit and f*cked up as a pedestrian (probably even more) than we do in a car.  maybe she was trying to keep "the kid" quiet....but that's besides the point i guess.

i was just more put off by her referring to her child as "the kid"...it's wierd.

If you moved 1/3 of the effort you put into typing that long azz post into securing yo child you would be fine.

How do you all feel about letting kids stand up in shopping carts?

actually i think standing in a shopping cart is a much easier situation for a toddler to suffer  minor and or major injuries...

Hopefully the OP actually takes heed to this experience and buckles her child up from here on out. I would bet that every parent that was involved in a car accident where their kid was not restrained and was hurt would trade everything to go back in time and spend that extra moment to buckle them up. The pain layered with the guilt, I couldn't imagine.
