I Feel even if the picture is innocent , a Bishop should never post a picture like the one in the op . If the pope or any well known man of god post a picture like this all Hell would break out . Only god knows the truth , but the Eddie longs of the world hide behind god words hurting children often .Why would a Bishop post any type of bathing pictures with or without a child ?

I know. I think I have told this story on BHM before. I have never met her ex husband, but I tried to get his name and address to keep on file ( ) . He had raped my friend while they were married, raped my friend's sister, raped one of her cousins, another young girl in their old neighborhood - and when their 18 year old daughter (when she was much younger) would visit him on weekends/holidays, she would make her brother sleep on top of the daughter in case the father wanted to harm her.
Why even let your child visit in the first place?
All the same, that little girl should not be in that house. |
Why isn't he in jail? And did she not know of his behaviors before they married?
|
He served 7 years in prison before they met and I don't think (at least I hope she didn't ) she knew about his behavior before they married (that's why I support background checks in this piece!).
She never divulged too much information to me (like how he had access to her sister, etc), so I'm wondering if they grew up in the same area or something. If I were her, he would have been back in prison.

Over here, it works a little differently. You take a shower and wash yourself before you get into the bath water. Some people used to keep the same tub of water for a few days. Traditionally, the husband takes a bath with the children when they are young and then the wife goes in last. |
This is interesting. I wonder if incidences of child abuse in Japan are as high as they are here in the States. |
Well, the way things are here, most child abuse goes unreported and the instances you do hear about are slightly different in nature. A few years back, there was something called joshikosei. It means school girls would go out with older men for money and designer handbags. While sex was not specifically a part of the arrangement, I am pretty sure that some of them did engage in it.
A lot of what people hear about is mostly physical abuse, which I have witnessed in public. |
What is the stigma, if any, around sexual predators there? Sexual abuse is met with such apathy and indifference, even in the penal system in the U.S. Everything is kept on the 'hush hush' for fear of people knowing the family secret.

Men are quick to get offended, but it's just some things they don't understand. I'm just gonna keep it 100. Young girls don't need to interact with males in certain ways. For example, they don't need to sit on men's knees or laps the bigger they get. It's about boundaries.

a long time ago my ex bf came to meet my family. my 3 yr old cousin wanted to sit on his lap so she kept trying to run and get up there. i really don't know why b/c they hadn't interacted. i could tell that he was trying to keep her from doing it but since he didn't know my family, he didn't really know what to say. my aunt said she's gonna be fast when she grows up. smh. |
Wow to this. I mean really auntie?

I know I am tardy to the party but I have a situation I witness with my own eyes that kind of similar. I work in retail (hopefully temporary) and I was assigned to the fitting room. This one woman came in with a armful of clothes. I gave her number and she proceeded inside. Then she calls out her her son to come inside with her. Ladies and gent, her son had to be around 12 years old. I mean he was of age and all and seems capable of fending for himself to a degree and the store has a bench where folks can wait for family members/friends who are trying on clothes. And he has an handheld device which I am sure contains games and what not. To me, he looked like he is capable of waiting for his mom. My eyes bugged the fcuk out but I gave him his number.
The reason why I reacted that way because I assumed (most likely wrong) that she, the mother, was overly attached to the son. It reminded me of this guy that had this "emotionally incestuous" relationship with his mother and that grossed me out.

Although things are getting beter here, I think the stigma is slightly worse. I have only heard of one or two people who were victims of child sexual abuse from a father figure. Interestingly enough, I have heard of more cases of mother-son abuse than father-daughter abuse.
When it comes to sexually deviant behavior here, all you have to do is look at the p0rn that comes out of Japan. But then again, looking at the cultural and societal set up, there is a huge leap, here, between fantasy and action. Many Japanese men have certain fantasies, but the majority of them are unlikely to act them out.
