No it is not. The uterus and vagina are back to their normal size at 6 weeks but the body is not completely healed. The postpartum period can take at least 12 weeks. It is recommended that you have pelvic rest for 6 weeks, but the body does not completely heal after carrying a baby for 9 months in just 6 weeks. Your still at risk for hemorraging at 6 weeks. It is not recommended to have a baby for at least another 12-18 weeks mostly because the baby is at risk for being born preterm or developing SIDS. I just completed clinical and L&D course and this issue was discussed.
I saw some patients that had just had a child less than a year ago and was getting ready to have a second child with no problems, so it's not uncommon.
