Now I don't think anyone should be forced to marry, cater, or host anyone they don't want to. That is ridiculous to me. I know I don't want to be anywhere I'm not wanted.
IA......... BUT just like how that pastor didnt want blacks married in his church, or restaurants didn't want us at their tables, colleges dont want us enrolled, jobs don't want us as employees, buses wanted us seated in the back, etc... It is all WRONG and it's discrimination.  Where would we be if Brown vs the Board of Topeka never happened cuz everyone said "we shouldn't cater to blacks, it is ridiculous that they want to go to school here, I don't want to be anywhere I'm not wanted"Broken Heart

See it from the other side Wynter.  Equal rights for allClap

Lol, I'm gay so not sure what other side I can see it from. However, I can only speak for myself but I have friends who feel the same way. I'm catholic and go to church when I feel the need to but I also understand the beliefs of my religion.
ok, well I'm happy for you & I just want everyone to be treated & respected equally.  The exclusion is not fair.  The other side I was talking about is taking a stand for what is right, even if its not popular.  If we had the same attitude of oh well, they dont want us in that workplace or in that college, we would have never gotten affirmative action.  Its easy to give up, it takes courage to fight for what's right

I definitely get what you're saying Bunny and I agree to a certain extent. Being excluded from the right to education and work is a little different imo. There are churches that "cater" for lack of a better word to the homosexual community. If the church you have chosen doesn't accept you, why not have a ceremony among people who are genuinely happy for your union.

I get what you're saying.  It kind of ties into  the "spite" thing but not quite.  Look at it this way, you are trying to get into yale & they say, why do you want to be here?  Go to your own school that accepts you.  So you enrol in Howard.  Or you are trying to shop at Barneys or Saks.  The manager tells you to leave & go shop at the FUBU store because that is where you are wanted & accepted.

sigh*

The same can definitely be said about you.  You don't have to do a thing, because you can't do a thing.  What you said was baseless & very weak indeed.

I hear ya! I think I'm going to bow out now because this issue isn't that important to me. I only commented because someone said they didn't understand why gay people wanted to get married in a church.
