Can I at least ask why the topic in the OP and the article linked are the opposite of each other? Am I just misreading it? The priests were being told that they could NOT perform same sex marriage and were doing it anyway in defiance of the Church. Also: What assurances have been provided for religious organisations? Mrs Miller has promised a "quadruple lock" for religious groups who oppose gay marriage, involving:
- No religious organisation or individual minister being
compelled to marry same-sex couples or to permit this to happen on their
premises
- Making it unlawful for religious organisations or their
ministers to marry same-sex couples unless their organisation's
governing body has expressly opted in to provisions for doing so
- Amending the 2010 Equality Act to ensure no discrimination
claim can be brought against religious organisations or individual
ministers for refusing to marry a same-sex couple
- The legislation explicitly stating that it will be illegal for
the Church of England and the Church in Wales to marry same-sex couples
I'm sorry. I know I'm trying to be on topic on page 18/19. I'm just lost and have no one to ask now.

It's not. God did not create marriage. Marriage between families and individuals was a common thing before Abrahamic religions. |
I know plenty of married atheists. Some whose marriage is stable & lasting way longer than alladeez believers

i couldnt imagine reading the entire bible... goodness.
i just remember little things from being in detention and having to copy from it the entire time in catholic school.

I agree with you, but it just seems like the language is what's causing the problem. If religious people want to claim marriage as their own thing, then I say let them, as long as everyone gets equal rights in the end.

So since sex before marriage is a sin, I'm assuming you only did it once, became ashamed because its a sin and haven't done it again until you get married.
