Since when do Cali gangs care if you're in a gang or not?
My entire life growing up in Cali, my bros would have slapped me silly if I wore certain colors ESPECIALLY in LA and none of us were in gangs
Gangs are territorial and ignorant. They don't care

They dont.
My mama wouldnt let me have all red (except for my sparkly ass Dorothy-esque chucks) or blue shoes in high school because I took the city bus to school and had to go through at least 4 different "territories." They dont care.

Definitely a factor.
But there's also the fact that they've literally taken over the communities. The schools, the public services, whole neighborhoods. Black people are justifiably angered that the small sliver of the pie they were getting now has to be shared, and with illegal immigrants at that. Police have no problem locking up black folk for petty drug possession but try getting them to actually deport someone.
And then you add all the jobs blacks are now closed out of because they don't speak spanish. Teaching, nursing, front facing government jobs (dmv, welfare/social security/etc. offices), and others.
I hate to sound like a racist white militia member but...illegal immigration is at the root of the black vs. latino race war here.

aint this the truth. and that family was brave
to move there in the first place. its unfortunate, but certain hoods
you should know not to move to.
also, i hope black folks would organize themselves enough to fight against this sh*t. the sad part is, most don't see or comprehend what is going on here.

Smh Alias...Not you too. Anyone on here but you. So socially aware...Yet it has come to this. LOL @ Blacks and Mexicans get along. Please research American history, esse migration history, and esse gang history. LOL @ blame whites. White people told esse's to kill black children as initiation? Black...Children?White people told esse's that killing a black female toddler was justifiable revenge for middle aged esse dying by coincidence? @Maysay immigration is only a part of it. Look into it in your spare time. The roots of it are racism pure and simple. Same as whites. On the real the only ones we should be rocking with is the Asians, and that's only to a degree at that (don't let them buy up Africa lol).

The racism we (Black people) experience from all other races stem from white supremacy.
Maybe you should be the one to research American history.

Smh, and black women think it's all good with the "others". Better ask Chicago, L.A, and Texas what's up. That's why I respect Chicago for at least keeping it segregated considering they couldn't run them out completely. ATL better smartin up and better stay black at all costs. Esse's always move where the blacks are, playing it off like it's all "love" between colored folk and stupid black people (especially black women) fall for it every time. But as soon as they get they numbers up it's business as usual. |
ATL is not as Black as you would think...there's A LOT of blacks but there's A LOT of asian and hispanic too. the hispanics seem to mind their own business though.

Interesting... I don't know much about L.A. either. I gotta say, I've noticed a few mexicans move out here in the past year or so and they always look at me like I'm dirt on the sidewalk. At first, it startled me a little...

I have a pretty embarrassing story about having latino neighbors. They tried to punk me. I'll tell it when the debating is done and people are talking about food.

It's a very new phenomenon in Montreal. Not a whole lot of them but I noticed because the men always look at me so damn hard. The women pretend not to see you, which is fine. But the men, they look at you like you don't belong and they're two thoughts away from shanking you. Don't mean to be stereotypical but that's what I've experienced
