LOL

I certainly wouldn't plan to have a child at 43, but if that's when it happened for me I would certainly still look forward to motherhood.  Early 30 is my ideal time to do that.

Ok, well she'll be aight if she goes on a cleanse, then stays away from GM foods from now on.

My aunty gave birth last year to her second child. She is in her forties and both monmy and baby are well...she lives in a different society where they eat mostly whole foods and drink rain water though.

Having a child at 40 isn't any more or less selfish then having a kid at 30 or 20.  In fact chances are you are more mature and financially prepared to handle a child the older you get.   And since the life expectancy for women is 70 world wide (wikipedia), she's got a pretty good chance of seeing her her kids graduate from college and possibly see her grandkids.

My hubby's grandmother just passed away last year...she was 96.

I think it will become more and more common for women to have children older, especially the career-driven women. If it is what she wants, then I am happy for her. I am sure her child will be okay.

I remember a recent thread where members were some people were suggesting that if you had a baby over 30/35 it was practically guaranteed to have all kinds of issues. Oh BHM.LOL

If women were suspose to have babies that old we wouldn't start our cycle so young and go through menopause...........and certain health issues wouldn't be heightened.......having theses menopause babies is not natural........

My granny was born in 1911 and im early 30s. It's in my blood to have babies 35+. We don't have health problems. Not saying it's low risk. But people drink , take m3dication, smoke, eat processed foods, gain too much weight or not enough, give birth to multiple babies.you name it,all probably much more risky.
