I am going to relax my hair the first week of september. Do you wear your hair down? Are your ends dry? What relaxer do you use?

I might relax it next week my hair is unmanagable..... i only wear my hair down when my hair is freshly relaxed, my ends are very dry and brittle especial after airdrying....I don't know what relaxer I use because it is my hairdresser that relaxes my hair..... as i said i airdry my hair soo i don't really wear my hair down because it is puffy and i dont use heat i always keep my hair in a bun i think my problem is that my ends needs alot of moisture.... i find when i apply moisturizer to my ends it still feels the same(brittle and dry) p.s i am going to try the baggie method ...
and I don't think myhair dresser usesa heat protectant onmyhair after relaxing it and pressinfg then blow-drying... is that bad? is that why i have split neds?? how do i approach her??

Do you seal? Have you ever done the baggie method? You may also need to try out new products. And when you relax, try and ask the stylist what relaxer he/she uses.

That may be giving you splits. You can bring your own heat protectant to the salon and just ask her to use it.
My stylist was horrible. She overprocessed, didn't use heat protectant, didn't time the relaxer and only rinsed it out when it burned, barely deep conditioned me, blowdried AND flat ironed my hair, and trimmed without asking me. So I am getting my mom to do my hair from now on. She did it before I went to the salon adn I trust her a lot. I am more comfortable with her doing my hair than a stranger who doesn't care about me or my hair goals.

I use Africa's Best Herbal Oil or Wonder 8 Oil and it's great. I am planning on sealing with coconut oil in the future. What do you moisturize with before sealing? Check out my fotki. I think I wrote some thing about hot oil treatments in there.

I made up a homemade spray of conditioner, oil, s-curl, honey, and water. It is the best moisturizer I've ever used. I put that on my ends, then put on some ORS Olive Oil, and seal with Africa's Best Herbal Oil. I am going to try to make an ends treatment with Shea Butter and coconut oil and see if that's any better than the Olive Oil.
