Topic: Will you ever get to old, to wear LF. Posted: 20 Nov 2009 at 1:25pm |
I was just sitting here wondering, as I got older ,,what will i be wearing on my head . I love my LF, and they've become a huge part of my haircare, I have alopecia so I have very few options. So I'm wondering as the years go by, when I hit 50 ,60 years old ,will I be able to keep up my hair regimen the application, the up- keep, . It's a scary thought for me,will I resort to wearing bob cut synthie's the not age appropriate . just venting

Wear what you like, to whatever age you like. I will and if I want to polish my head like billiard ball then I'll do that too. Let them try to stop me!

Girl, I think about that too! Everytime I take mine off, I pray I don't pass out or get a heart attack or stroke because I sure don't want to be caught without my lf ! I plan to wear these as long as I still have dexterity in my fingers to apply my unit. Hopefully by the time I'm 70, they'll be something a lot easier to apply or a cure for alopecia.

I really hope I'm not still trying to style in a lw at 75.. lmao.. if i have arthritis or something, how am i gonna apply a whole wig? use a flat stick to smooth the adhesive? shyyyyyt..
i hope i can maintain my natural hair when i'm that old.. if not.. then i'm in trouble.. unless i can afford the ones that are molded to your head and no glue needed..

Don't you think that these units spoil us? Especially aftr we get the technique down pat! And Becky no way are u 54...you look fabulous! Keep up the great work girlie!

I think when I hit 40 or 50 it is time to pack them up and move on. I think that time in my life I will get tired of them. I will also probaly be rocking my real hair.

Thanks Tressa and Innovativelace! I feel 37 and that's what people think I am so .... ummmm.
(The only thing is .. I want to go through menapause like my friends because I am tired of my period. But the doctor says my FSH level is sooo low ... I am nowhere near menapause. He says... maybe in my 60's?
So I am still on the flippen pill. Now ... I started my period when I was 11 soooo I am sooo tired of it.)

AlabamaKim: 50s and 60s is not old these days. If you still care about the way you look in your 50s and 60s you will take the effort to look good, and if looking good involves wearing a LF, you'll have the energy to work it!!! I know I will - I'll be wearing them when I'm 90.

mine's didn't come with no age limit, nobody can tell me i can't wear or do what i please.. especially the older i get, i have paid my dues, and ain't nobody can put a lid on all this..
i saw a thread saying when you get older you should wear long skirts.. not with my legs... i'll wear what i please, granted i won't be in mirco mini's b/c i try to represent with class, and I don't think that's appropriate, but as long a i'm fierce i'll rock whatever i want..

Ladydi, I'm with you. I don't consider myself old. I'm 56 years old too. I have No difficulty applying a lace wig. I think I do a fairly good job for an old lady. I can't imagine that things will change a lot in the next few years. It depends of the type on lifestyle you maintain at any age.

i might change the style i wear, but this is a blessing for me and i don't intend to give it up any time soon. and if i start getting too old and can't apply myself, i will have to make sure i arrange to have someone apply it for me since i don't have any daughters....only son's.
by the time we have to worry about it, who knows what will be available.
