Topic: Wig/nape straps?? Posted: 06 Nov 2009 at 2:29am |
I always have difficulties with keep my nape down after a few days, so i was thinking of getting a thin skin in the back. But before i venture to that, i'm wondering about the adjustable straps that some have in thier wigs. I've never had them. Do they work? did you like them? And feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.

I love them! I always get my wigs with the strap in the back. I never wear my hair up so it is very convenient for me. I also work out a lot and the adhesives never seem to last through my work outs so I switched to the lace front with the straps in the back a couple of years ago. It is perfect because it gives me a snug fit even when I don't want to tape the front down. I think you should try it, you may like it. It's not for if you wear your hair up in a high ponytail but I do sometimes wear a low ponytail and it looks great. I just ordered one from mike&mary and it should be here sometime next week. Good luck if you do try it.

I love straps in the back. I do bobby pin apps and the strap in the back makes it so much easier and faster to do.

I do not glue down the back anymore. It never works for me. I just leave it as is or use bobby pins.

I order all my units with straps in the back. Works great for me. I just apply (glue/ tape combo)the front and the straps in the back give me a snug fit..

Straps are a head ache and a half.the straps ride up your head in the back and they never stay strap.I would say get a thin skin unit, every one says it works best. The unit I had that had straps in the back,I cut them out.Trust me you would not like it.

I have ordered my first unit with straps in the back, unfortuantely, although I love it, it keeps riding up. In other words it won't stay in place without me constantly pulling it down. The material is a bit stretchy. Could it be that my measurement was a bit too small that is why I am experiencing this problem? Any feedback or help will be much appreciated.

I must be doing something wrong with mine. They are always coming undone and dangling down, tickling my neck.

The way I keep my wig from riding up is I braid my hair underneath so when I put it on I connect the straps together at the ends (instead of using the little slots that they go into) then I tuck the back of the wig underneath my braids. That works great for me.

I THOUGHT EVERONE GETS STRAPS IN THE BACK...IT'S GOOD TO HAVE...plus it gives you an extra sense of security. they are usually ajustable and some people even put combs in the back, esp if they only wear their hair down.

Nope. I just use the pins and connect it with my hair underneath the wig. I know it sounds weird but it works

I use pins at the back too. I never wear my hair up though. I will try Long&Sexy's tip though. I still have 2 that have straps on and they just irritate me too much to wear them till now.

I also love straps at the back because I do not care for pony tails in my lace wigs. For me the application time and confort is better when I wear lace front wigs instead of full lace wig. That is just my personal preference.

it didnt look right. it was just like a reg wig not laying flat w a LF it would have been uncomfortable to feel the hook in my scalp.
that girl is 8 yrs old now. wigs r better now but I cant see it being comfortable on my scalp... maybe somebody can tell us if they feel the hook on their scalp?
