Those silk tops look too close to the hairline.

I am no LF expert but you are right...I went back to see it. I think most silk anything tend to look very fake...silk closures and silk lace frontals...at least the ones I have seen. I think lace ones can look very real if doctored well, but of course there are those that are a give a way as well.

Now I am confused. hee hee!
The silk top is SUPPOSED to look like your scalp .. so it looks like the hair is growing out of the scalp .. no mesh, no knots .. no grids.
No matter how skilled, when someone gets in your head - they will see those darns GRIDS.
The picture in the link above shows the silk top panel .. and then it ABRUPTLY ends. This is the 'line of demarcation' because .. how are you ever gonna hide that near your edges?
You would have to wear full on bangs to hide it.
But what should happen is the silk panel should stop maybe 1/8 inch from the edge of the unit. Then there is a narrow section of regular swiss lace .. the color of your skin. So when you apply the unit, the the swiss laces melts into your skin on the edges .. just as they would if you had a regular full swiss lace unit.
The transitional area between the silk top and the swiss lace should be done such that there is no abrupt line ... it just blends in.
If I use my 5X magnifying mirror, I can see the little swiss lace grid that have been blended in with the silk panel.
If someone can see a line of demarcation with the naked eye though .. that's poor craftsmanship.
If you want my vendor, send me a PM.

Becky, yes silk is suppose to look like your scalp yes I know that...what I am saying is that most people that I have seen wearing silk closures or silk frontals.......will most likely have a scalp that is too light(this can be dyed) or there is a line of demarcation and it ends up looking fake. While, some of the lace looks more realistic when doctored but it has been really hard for me to see realistic any realistic anything that has a silk top(I am talking from what I seen in the weave section)...this is just my opinion.

I hear this too .. but I dye my silk panel in strong black coffee ... and it works.
Everyone is different though I think.. this just works for me so I will never order a unit without a silk top.

I would never buy from an ebay seller that is using some random model's pictures. I need to see exactly what I'm giving up my hard earned money for. If I want to look at random pics of models I will surf the net. I hope the OP gets exactly what she is hoping for.
