bullet Topic: TEXT REVERSION QUESTONS
    Posted: 12 Apr 2009 at 5:29pm
hi ladies!!! i have a Botanicals text and I am really lovin it! i recently did my first touch up and it seems a little straighter than last time (may have processed a smidge too long). i still have waves, which is my style of choice, but it has more of a 'relaxed' look to it. so im hoping that after a couple washes my hair will revert slightly, so my waves "pop". i hope this makes sense...i want to know if some of the texture will come back after a few washes? have any of u experienced this? what did u do to get the "texture" back to your hair? thanks in advance!!!!!!
my husband is soooo cute!!

Honestly i find that when u lose the natural texture of the hair to chemical u cant really get it to revert.. people do say washing it helps but washing only makes the hair shrink n appear more natural i dnt think the hair actually reverts... i had a texturiser n the hair in the front was over processed, i co washed everyday for months n it was still straight n spikey in the front.. curly mousse n scrunching helps tho

i can say, i used the same and i overprocessed my curls and they are limp now, i wanted to b/c  and start again, trying to savor the curls and get length at the same time. i will be updating my pictures soon. i wish i could go back and only do the new growth or found someone to do it for me. it's hard to see when your roots are tightly coiled and your text hair is curly. somepeople can do it.

my hair usually reverts somewhat, despite the fact that people say its "not possible". its always much tighter curled after a few weeks have gone by. dont know why...but i like it!

I only get shrinkage, it does not revert, no matter how much I beg.

My text gets a little curlier after a few days and also seems to revert more when I am due for a touch up.

Protein treatments will help your curls pop. The best thing to do is use a protein conditioner before you neutralize and then it will spring back right away.

I used botanicals and my hair reverted extremely quickly--like after 3 weeks or so.  Waste of time for me....but then I'm glad I didn't overprocess which is deadly, lol!  I didn't do anything special other then weekly poo washing and conditioning.
Get back under your hairdryers.

It depends on how feisty your hair is... I have never honestly seen my natural hair at a considerable length, but my relaxed hair goes through drastic changes when I go months without touch ups. So I think it's possible that your hair will revert to some stage, but it's pretty much impossible to predict unless you just do it. Be careful about washing too much. I've heard you can strip your hair of it's natural oils. So maybe co-wash, and see what happens. Keep us posted.

I just want to be happy.

I had my TEXTurizer done about 3 weeks ago using the soft n beautiful botanicals as well. I'm so much happier because when using relaxers prio to my hair would feel like it needed a touch up by the 4th week.. I had to wear my hair up in a bun until my touch up again...
With the TEXT, I can feel small curls growing in but they are soft and manageable...Thumbs%20Up
