so for to press my hair and then go over it with a flat iron to get the silkier look. i follow up by wrapping my hair and when i un wrap it my hair is super straight. Also I blowdry my hair very straight otherwise if i try to air dry and then press i will be in pain. I have lots of hair.

I flat ironed my hair today and this is the method I used.

-I started by washing/conditioning my hair, then parting into 4 sections.
-With each section, I applied warm olive oil to my scalp, then sprayed some Organix Brazilian Keratin flat iron mist and Frizz Ease Heat Defeat by John Freida while my hair was still damp
- then blow dryed it semi-straight while using a big circle brush.
- I took small pieces of the hair and flat ironed it at 375 degrees. I didn't need to go over the section more than twice, it came out bone straight after going over it the first time.
-I lightly sprayed it with oil sheen afterwards

My hair's really flowy and bouncy, still full of volume, but no frizz. I love it. No oily mess weighing it down. Looks like a fresh permLOL. All I need to do now is clip my ends, they're a little scraggly.

Hey guys! I haven't been on here in a while but I'm 100% natural and I feel like I FiNaLLY (Lord knows it took me forever) figured out the key to getting and keeping my hair straight. Here is a video of how I do it and what products I use:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC3Hfoaf8dw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC3Hfoaf8dw

My regimen:

1. Wash with sulfate free shampoo; pref one with tea tree oil for my scalp. (I like the one from Trader Joe's)
2. Deep condition with a mixture of moisturizing and protein conditioners (HE, Joico)
3. Sit under bonnet dryer for 30 mins with shower cap
4.  Detangle using fingers, wide tooth comb and or Denman brush
5. Rinse out conditioner (gently not to re-tangle my hair)
6. Apply leave-in, CHI silk infusion and heat protectants
7. Blow Dry
8. Flat-iron (see video---and yes that is me)

I have a simple technique for pressing the hair and getting it silky, straight and smooth.  I use the stove irons...it makes it lovely!  Check it out.
